Hix Sculpture Trail Auction Dinner

Langmoor Gardens in Lyme Regis not only stands in the most desirable location in town with a panoramic view of Lyme Bay, but also has some award winning Californian style naturalistic planting and a super inspiring sculpture trail.

The sculpture trail was installed in Autumn 2016, managed by the ever innovative Arts Fest and has been enjoyed again and again by locals and tourists alike. In order to keep the trail alive and kicking Lyme Regis council have offered to cover 50% of the cost, the rest is hoping to be raised through By the Bay and Hix Oyster and Fish House.

The zenith of the sculpture trail is at the ever brilliant Hix, where from the terrace you can enjoy not only the planting, the panoramic view and glimpses of the sculpture, but also a delicious Hix Fix and a scrumpy fried oyster or two.

Hix are supporters of local events and British art so for them it’s a must. Mark will be hosting a special dinner at the Fish House on the 8th May to raise funds to keep the sculptures on display. Philip Evans, renowed author and editor of View from Lyme will also be chairing an auction on the night, including pieces of work by the Sculpture Trail artists (including the beautiful Amorphous Form 24 and 39 by Isla Chaney below)

So, an evening with a high profile chef, author, artists, delicious seafood and an exquisite sea view is sounding pretty darn good: Whilst supporting some very well needed public art. In the words of author Ray Bradbury “We need our Arts to teach us how to breathe”.

Help us all breathe well on May 8th, Hix, Langmoor Gardens, Lyme Regis.
