Hix Fish and Oyster House, Lyme Regis
Clean, minimal, white and timber interiors (always a winner for me) together with unfussy, delicious food from quality, local ingredients.
Here for a rare lunch out with J; a great set lunch deal (always cheers him) and spectacular views, makes for a very happy few hours. We retire to the tiny deck out front for a white tea. With a mix of prices/options on the menu it doesn’t have to be a full blow out , although that does sound like fun. We will be back, or at least I will (on the quiet), for tea and crumpets mid morning served with the “Hix Cure” potted smoked salmon.
- Book ahead at all times of year.
- All restaurant tables have a good view but the front tables are the best.
- Fine with kids at lunchtime or early supper.
- Leave room for a dessert, they are great!
